Superb elegant example of Ramu River art of the highest order. This mask masterpiece displays all the refined wistful beauty & inscrutable subtlety of the greatest African, Japanese & Eskimo mask forms. Collected 40 years ago by the PNG University Professor of Architecture on an early buying trip by canoe to the Sepik Region. This field trip also included collectors Wallace & Ruth Mc Duff Eugene Oregon USA (later murdered in Lae).
