Provenance: Arthur Beau Palmer Collection, NT and Qld. Collected in the field from original MSC Port Keats Mission staff during Palmer's term as Head of Land Claims NT. The five distinct sections of this work depict the essential elements of the Murrinpatha Cosmos - Male and Female, Sun and Clouds, Moon and Female Morning Star and Milky Way, and the underworld through which the great male stars pass nightly. Iconography is derivative of traditional ceremonial face and body paint.
